UNITRACC wins NO-DIG Award

In a ceremonial event as a prelude to the 23rd International NO-DIG Conference in Rotterdam on 19 September the NO-DIG Award was awarded by the ISTT, the International Society for Trenchless Technology for extraordinary projects in the field of sewer- and pipeline construction.

The popular prize is awarded annually in four categories. The platform for information, learning and working UINITRACC won in the category "Academic Research and Training Aid". Dipl.-Ing. Robert Stein, Chief Executive Officer of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stein & Partner GmbH received the award from the vice-chairman of the ISTT and president of the ASTT (Australasian Society for Trenchless Technology) Menno Henneveld. The international jury of the ISTT honoured UNITRACC as a special example of a universal web application that sets new standards for education and training in the field of underground engineering by its substantiated information and learning offer as well as realistic applications. "This international award makes us very proud and confirms once again that our efforts to create a universal medium for information and learning are on the right track", says Robert Stein.

In an extensive lecture about UNITRACC the next day of the conference he explained further information and details insight into the structure and the wide spectrum of contents of the platform. Further information on www.unitracc.com.

The jury was to evaluate a total of 21 nominations from ten countries. Among the winners in the category "Student and Young Professional" is John Mathews from the USA with an interactive software for selecting processes for the installation and replacement of utilities.

The ShieldLiner system by the Australian company ShieldLiner Ltd. was awarded as the most innovative product. Trenchless Technology Italia Srl. won in the category "Best Trenchless Project" for the installation of a new water supply pipeline by means of vertical drilling through solid rock in Riva at the Lake Garda.

In more than 50 lectures and presentations the participants of the conference were informed about the latest developments, research results and projects on an international basis. The positive feedback by the visitors confirmed the great success of the 23rd International NO-DIG Conference.
